Colour / Unity

Space / Contrast

Unity : It is used in photography when the subject of the photo is not cut out/cropped making the photo feel as if its all in harmony, in my photo here my subject is my brother and he is not cut out in any way

Space : It is used in photography when the subject in a photo either uses positive space, which shows the area the subject takes up or negative space, where the subject shows the area around, under through and between. In my photo here I used negative space showing the area around my subject (the lit up room)

Value / Balance

Value : In photography value is shown by the range between darks and whites and all the grays in between giving the photo class, elegance and a sense of the past. In my photo I used value by giving drama in a whiter hue to the book in the middle, as the books around become darker giving the book a sense of specialty

Lines / Movement

Movement : In photography Movement is used to tell a story, the way life moves, the action that makes life, life. In my photo I used this by having my subject tell his story about his passion for music, the concentration in his eyes, the hand instinctively moving with the sheet music

Shape / Balance

Shape : In photography shapes are found everywhere, they can be found as a natural thing like leaves or puddles, or they can be found as a man-made thing like a cube or like in my photo, I used heart shaped glasses to give the photo man-made shape

Texture / Emphasis

Texture : A photo can make you imagine what the texture of that subject is in photography, textures can be shown in many ways showing the smoothness, hairiness, bumpy, gooey and so much more!! In my photo I used texture by showing a close up of a prickly and very spiky cactus
